I drive a fast car because I like going fast
Add to that--It isn't a health care plan as much as it is a health insurance plan.

Follow the link for the full article.100 years of Big Content fearing technology—in its own wordshttp://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2009/10/10 ...fta: For the last hundred years, rightsholders have fretted about everything from the player piano to the VCR to digital TV to Napster. Here are those objections, in Big Content's own words. It's almost a truism in the tech world that copyright owners reflexively oppose new inventions that do (or might) disrupt existing business models. But how many techies actually know what rightsholders have said and written for the last hundred years on the subject? The anxious rhetoric around new technology is really quite shocking in its vehemence, from claims that the player piano will destroy musical taste and the "national throat" to concerns that the VCR is like the "Boston strangler" to claims that only Hollywood's premier content could make the DTV transition a success. Most of it turned out to be absurd hyperbole, but it's interesting to see just how consistent the words and the fears remain across more than a century of innovation and a host of very different devices. So here they are, in their own words—the copyright holders who demanded restrictions on player pianos, photocopiers, VCRs, home taping, DAT, MP3 players, Napster, the DVR, digital radio, and digital TV..
What a stupid ***** gimmick, who's going to bother logging onto twitter and writing a message when 10 minutes ago you could have spoken to a human being and the taxi is on its way.!

Fruit fly brains are easier to understand, map, and perhaps manipulate. No sense hackin' up mice until one knows better what they're doing.

No, not really. It just highlights some of the things really going on.Racism is rearing its ugly head like never before because our President is black. These people are suffering the fallout of that. The things that are also going on which you think this is a distraction from? They can also be paid attention to at the same time while decrying racism. They're not mutually exclusive.

i'm sure this isn't isolated to just Netflix and GameFly...they just get caught more often because they steal so much of it since each DVD has a "real worth" of like $1-2. I wonder if there are UPS/FedEx/DHL workers pulling this off, but instead of 2200, maybe more like 22 packages in the same time, spread out. |
