The departure time from a station is irrelevant, it is the arrival time that matters. They leave a station late, so as not to arrive at a station early and leave early, leaving patrons who expecting a train to be there at a certain has already come and gone. Seriously, if the train is early at a station, the MTA tells their train/bus operators to wait (leave late according to the article), so that they stay in sync with the schedule.Also, waiting an extra minute at a station before departure gives those stragglers who are late the impression that they conductor is giving them some time to get aboard. Also, those who are at a station, thinking a train may have already departed, will be gladly surprised to see the train is just arriving. Once you are on a train, you don't mind too much that the train isn't on its way, you are just glad you are on the train at that point.
You may disagree with the man, but he would never use this kind of rhetoric.

The first Wolverine movie and the X-Men movies were too bland for my taste. If they were set in a darker feeling or with darker characters, it would be a lot better. But hey! Hollywood runs the show. |
